About io.net
io.net is a decentralized GPU network that aggregates underutilized computing power from data centers, crypto miners, and individual devices across 130+ countries. Its core business is providing on-demand GPU clusters for AI training, inference, and fine-tuning at costs reportedly 70% lower than major cloud providers like AWS or GCP.
The main market pain point it addresses is the shortage and high cost of AI compute, especially for startups and researchers who cannot afford centralized cloud services. By tapping into idle GPUs globally, io.net offers a more affordable and flexible alternative, while also reducing reliance on a few dominant cloud providers.
In the past six months (Feb-Aug 2026), io.net has focused on stabilizing its token economy. It launched an Incentive Dynamic Engine (IDE) that algorithmically adjusts token emissions based on network demand and a dual-vault system, aiming to keep supplier payouts stable in dollar terms. The project was also named one of the top 5 decentralized AI compute networks to watch by CryptoDaily. No major negative incidents were reported during this period, though the broader challenge of maintaining network quality and security remains an ongoing operational concern.
io.net, as a decentralized GPU computing network, has key milestones including: the listing of its token IO on major exchanges such as Upbit and Coinbase, significantly enhancing liquidity and market recognition; the launch of the IO Intelligence platform, integrating 25 open-source AI models like DeepSeek, expanding from raw compute to an AI service layer; and the release of the demand-driven token economic model IDE, planned for implementation in Q2 2026, which addresses inflation through dynamic supply adjustments and burning mechanisms, laying a foundation for long-term stability. These nodes mark io.net's evolution from infrastructure toward an ecosystem-oriented and sustainable direction.
