About Velvet
Velvet is a DeFi asset management and trading platform centered on "DeFAI" (DeFi + AI), simplifying complex DeFi operations into natural language commands. Users can trade directly via wallets, create or participate in vaults, while the AI assistant handles intent parsing, route optimization, and execution—eliminating the need to manually switch between protocols.
Its core strength lies in the "unified workflow": integrating token discovery, data analysis, and execution in one interface, alongside shared vaults and anti-front-running mechanisms. This addresses key pain points such as high entry barriers, fragmented liquidity, and inefficient decision-making. Additionally, gasless transactions and AI-driven strategy suggestions lower the barrier for newcomers.
In the past six months (March–September 2026), Velvet's key developments include: launching the Velvet X trading terminal with gasless transactions expanded to Base and BNB Chain; releasing the "Velvet Unicorn" AI framework for natural language research and trade execution; migrating liquidity to Aerodrome and integrating aggregators like SushiSwap to improve routing. The VELVET token saw significant price appreciation during this period, but note that its total value locked (TVL) remains far below market cap, with ~42% of supply in circulation and the rest subject to unlock pressure—indicating speculative characteristics.
Velvet Capital completed a $3.7 million funding round with YZi Labs and others, securing resources for long-term protocol growth.
VELVET launched on Binance Alpha with a second-round airdrop, expanding access and strengthening community incentives.
Positive: VELVET surged ~18x in June 2026 after Trade.xyz integration (global equities, commodities, indices, forex) and pre-IPO exposure (SpaceX, OpenAI); cross-chain trading and Velvet-1 AI model training announced; POL migrated to Aerodrome on Base; SushiSwap API integrated; Safe Foundation 5-year token swap; $VU fee-burn model and AI agent demand. Negative: 79% retrace from peak by June 18; 31.11% supply withdrawn from Sablier 2 days before cliff (2026-07-08); 2.017M tokens sold on 2026-08-11 pump day; FDV/TVL ~1,114x; veVELVET staking only 0.51% of supply; no finalized fee-sharing; governance voting not live.
