About Monad
Monad mainnet launched on Nov 24, 2025, with a 100B MON supply and airdrop. In early 2026, the MIP governance framework was established, enabling proposals like MIP-8 (page-level storage pricing) and MIP-10 (deterministic RaptorCast) to optimize execution and security. By April 2026, DeFi TVL surpassed $750M, ranking third among all chains, with Aave, Uniswap, and Pendle deploying early. Ethena also launched on Monad, expanding its stablecoin ecosystem. In May, a new transaction ordering mechanism was proposed, granting applications ordering power while preserving composability. The Echo Protocol security incident in June, affecting ~$816K, highlighted the need for stronger security practices. Monad's official X account was temporarily frozen in July due to a system error but was restored, with no rule violations found. Phantom wallet announced it would stop supporting Monad on Aug 12, a minor setback.
