About Fetch.ai

Fetch.ai is a Layer 1 and toolchain for autonomous economic agents, centred on the uAgents framework, the Agentverse registry and onchain settlement between agents. Developers define perception, decision and negotiation logic in Python, agents register services and addresses in the Almanac contract, discover each other and trade data or compute at agreed prices settled in FET. It addresses the missing identity, discovery and payment primitives for machine-to-machine trade: an agent can find a counterparty and settle a small payment without joining a central platform.

The ecosystem is governed through the ASI Alliance with SingularityNET and CUDOS, with GPU scheduling from ASI:Cloud and models such as ASI-1 Mini. Customers are data providers, DeFi strategy developers and enterprises orchestrating agents. In September 2026 the SingularityNET Ethereum-to-Cardano bridge was exploited and about USD 1.56 million of FET was taken, pausing AGIX conversion. Agentverse registrations diverge sharply from live protocol activity: an independent audit found only 36,000 protocol-active agents in the Almanac.

Fetch.ai, founded in 2017 in Cambridge, UK, is a blockchain platform for AI agents and machine learning. Its FET token launched via Binance Launchpad in 2019. In 2024, it merged with SingularityNET and Ocean Protocol to form the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI), unifying tokens under FET. Key long-term milestones include: launching a $10 million accelerator and innovation lab to support AI agent startups; initiating a $50 million FET buyback program to stabilize market confidence; and filing a lawsuit against Ocean Protocol in 2025, accusing it of improperly selling 263 million FET tokens, which led to Ocean's exit from the alliance. These events shaped its evolution from a niche AI project to a major decentralized AI player, though the alliance faced internal disputes and market volatility.

Security incident: On September 19 the SingularityNET Ethereum-Cardano bridge contract was exploited for about $1.56 million of FET, and the same attacker separately drained 8.72 million FET from Fetch.ai; AGIX-to-FET conversions were halted from September 20 and FET fell to $0.1773 that day.

Price and roadmap: FET traded near $0.19 on October 17, down about 16% on the week, with a market cap of roughly $445 million; the ASI:Chain mainnet is still expected in late 2026 or early 2027, and litigation from the Ocean Protocol split remained unresolved through mid-2026.

Updated: Oct 30, 2026

On 19 and 20 September 2026 attackers hit the ASI Alliance's migration infrastructure, withdrawing about 1.56 million dollars of FET from a token converter and minting roughly 408.5 million NTX without authorisation through SingularityNET's Ethereum to Cardano bridge.

Fetch.ai paused AGIX to FET conversions, halted its Ethereum-side bridge contract as a precaution, and said its own core contracts were unaffected and that FET on exchanges and in personal wallets needed no action. Security firm PeckShield traced more than 16 million dollars of assets to the same attacker and pointed to a flaw in signature verification in the lock-and-release mechanism. FET fell to about 0.177 dollars after the incident. On product, the alliance continues work on ASI:Chain, whose public devnet opened in November 2025 for AI agents and high-concurrency workloads, with mainnet expected between late 2026 and early 2027.

Before mainnet the alliance plans to patch the migration contracts and bridge and publish a full audit, while Fetch.ai unifies the ASI:One agent experience and ASI:Cloud compute under one account system so verifiable agent identity can rebuild trust.
