Tether froze over 4.5 million USDT related to the Mercado Bitcoin security incident

According to Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, Tether has frozen over 4.5 million USDT related to the security incident at Mercado Bitcoin.

Mercado Bitcoin previously stated that a security incident occurred in one of its systems, but customers did not suffer losses and there was no data breach; as a precaution, the platform temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals.
