Optimism is adopting the cross-chain intent standard ERC-7683 written by Across and Uniswap Labs.

ChainCatcher message, Layer 2 solution Optimism announced the adoption of the ERC-7683 cross-chain intent standard, which was jointly proposed by Across and Uniswap Labs. This initiative aims to enable high-speed ETH and USDC transfers on the Superchain and further promote application layer interoperability across the broader Ethereum ecosystem.

Optimism has integrated Across's intent-based bridging solution, providing fast bridging capabilities for the Superchain ecosystem through the Superbridge and Brid.gg interfaces. This move aligns with Vitalik's vision for the future of Ethereum, dedicated to addressing decentralization issues both within and outside the Superchain ecosystem.

Optimism plans to achieve interoperability at the protocol level by adding native interoperability in the OP Stack and leveraging open-source standard interfaces to facilitate application layer interoperability.
