About Prom
Prom (PROM) originated as Prometeus Network in 2019, a decentralized data marketplace. In 2023, the team pivoted to blockchain infrastructure and built a modular zkEVM Layer 2 using Polygon CDK. The mainnet went live in November 2024, with the genesis block timestamped October 29, 2024. In September 2024, the project announced testnet V2, marking a key step in its L2 development. In March 2026, Prom underwent its third strategic pivot, repositioning from zkEVM L2 infrastructure to an AI Agent economy layer, launching an Agent-to-Agent (A2A) verification network for on-chain AI agent validation, consensus, and dispute resolution. Throughout these transitions, the PROM token remained the native asset for gas, staking, and governance. The project's evolution from data marketplace to zkEVM L2 to AI Agent layer reflects its continuous adaptation to crypto market trends, though its on-chain activity remains limited with a TVL of approximately $570,000 and only 2 dApps as of August 2026.
