DataHop

Decentralised content distribution network

Details

DataHop is a decentralized content distribution network that operates at the network edge. It bypasses the network core and utilizes user smartphones and WiFi access point devices to distribute heavy content at the edge of the network—where users actually need it. DataHop reduces cellular traffic for the mobile network operator, streaming costs for the end-user, and distribution costs for the content provider. By utilizing users' devices, DataHop does not need to maintain expensive CDN infrastructure.
