About Aevo
Aevo is a decentralized derivatives exchange focused on options and perpetual futures. It operates on its own custom Layer 2 network built on the OP Stack, which provides a fast and low-cost environment for on-chain trading.
Its core business includes options trading, perpetual futures, the PERPS+ structured product, and recently, spot trading for tokenized real-world assets. A key feature is the unified margin account, allowing users to trade options, perps, and other products with shared collateral and cross-margin efficiency.
The main pain point Aevo addresses is the complexity and high barriers of traditional options trading. In the past six months (March to September 2026), Aevo expanded into real-world assets by listing six tokenized stocks and ETFs from Ondo Finance, enabling users to trade these alongside derivatives in the same account. It also continued to develop its structured products and risk management systems.
It is important to note that Aevo experienced a security incident in 2024 related to its legacy Ribbon Finance vault infrastructure, where approximately $27,000 was stolen due to an oracle misconfiguration. The issue was addressed, but it highlights risks inherent in DeFi platforms.
