About Gemini

Gemini, founded by the Winklevoss twins in 2014, obtained a New York BitLicense in 2015, becoming one of the first regulated exchanges. In December 2025, it received a CFTC derivatives clearing organization license, advancing its full-stack compliant derivatives platform. The Winklevoss brothers injected $100 million in strategic funding, with Q1 2025 revenue up 42% and Q2 revenue reaching $45.5 million (up 37% YoY), though net losses persisted. In August 2025, Gemini filed its S-1 with the SEC and went public on Nasdaq under the ticker GEMI, pricing at $28 and opening at $37.01, valuing the company at approximately $3.3 billion. However, in April 2025, the New York Attorney General sued Gemini over its prediction market products, alleging illegal gambling. Additionally, ARK Invest's research director suggested Hyperliquid acquire Gemini to build a compliant US HIP-3/4 platform. These milestones highlight Gemini's regulatory progress, financial evolution, and ongoing legal challenges.
