About Suilend

Suilend is a decentralized lending protocol built on the Sui blockchain. Its core business allows users to deposit assets like SUI, USDC, or USDT as collateral and borrow other assets against them, with interest rates determined algorithmically by supply and demand.

The protocol's key differentiator is its isolated market design. Instead of pooling all assets together, each market is separated, so a crash in one asset (e.g., a volatile long-tail token) does not directly endanger the entire protocol. This reduces systemic risk compared to traditional shared-pool lending models. Additionally, Suilend integrates a native swap aggregator and a liquid staking product (SpringSui), letting users swap tokens or stake SUI for sSUI without leaving the platform, improving capital efficiency.

The main market pain point it addresses is the fragmentation of DeFi services on Sui. Previously, users had to jump between multiple protocols for swapping, lending, and staking, which was inefficient and increased exposure to smart contract risks. Suilend combines these functions into one interface.

Regarding recent development (March to September 2026), the protocol launched its SEND token in December 2024 (prior to this period) and has been expanding its feature set. In February 2026, it introduced STEAMM, an automated market maker that integrates lending with concentrated liquidity. By January 2026, total value locked (TVL) surpassed $1 billion, and monthly active wallets exceeded 50,000. No major security incidents were reported during this period; the protocol has been audited and has operated without exploits since launch. However, as with all DeFi protocols, risks remain, including potential smart contract bugs, oracle failures, and Sui network outages.

Updated: Sep 2, 2026

Suilend launched its native token SEND with a total supply of 100 million, allocating 40% to the community via the mdrop mechanism to establish its token economy. Bluewater acquired Suilend and its ecosystem products, appointing Bluefin's founder as CEO to drive long-term integration and growth. The platform's TVL surpassed $600 million, reflecting sustained expansion.
