About RSS3

RSS3 is a decentralized protocol designed as an open information layer for Web3, indexing and structuring content across blockchains and social platforms. Its core business is to standardize fragmented data—such as posts, articles, and activity feeds—into a unified, queryable format that developers can integrate into apps or AI models.

The main pain point it addresses is data silos: content is scattered across networks, making it hard for users to follow or for developers to build cross-platform tools. RSS3 creates a single, open feed layer, reducing reliance on proprietary APIs and enabling interoperability.

In the past six months (2026-02-28 to 2026-08-29), RSS3 has focused on expanding its node network and improving data retrieval speed. It reported over 40 billion cumulative data requests, indicating growing infrastructure usage. The project also pushed AI-related use cases, positioning its structured data as a source for decentralized AI training, though this remains early-stage.

Negative aspects: token unlock pressure from early investors has created selling headwinds, and the ecosystem shows limited real adoption—many listed projects have low activity. Dependence on Arweave for storage introduces latency, and query fees can be paid with stablecoins, reducing the necessity of holding the RSS3 token. Overall, the concept is solid, but actual product-market fit is still unproven.

RSS3, an open information layer for Web3, began in 2021, inspired by Aaron Swartz's RSS concept and aimed at building decentralized information infrastructure. In February 2023, it launched the Alpha Mainnet, shifting focus from Web3 to the broader Open Web, covering blockchains and emerging protocols like Nostr, while serving over 400 million monthly requests. A pivotal upgrade came in July 2024 with DSL v1.0, which replaced the earlier Pull architecture with a fully decentralized Push architecture supported by 80+ global nodes, improving performance and reducing operational costs. In 2025, OKX delisted RSS3 spot trading pairs, marking a market adjustment as the project continued its technical evolution. These milestones highlight RSS3's transition from a concept to a decentralized infrastructure, emphasizing open information accessibility and long-term ecosystem building.

RSS3's founding team and core executives include: Joshua Meng (Founder), Zui Chen (Co-founder & COO), Henry Wang (CTO), and DIYgod Fan (CTO). Joshua Meng founded RSS3 and serves as its general manager. Zui Chen co-founded the company and oversees operations. Henry Wang leads technology as CTO, with expertise in software engineering and research. DIYgod Fan also holds the CTO title, known for creating RSSHub. All are actively involved in building the open information layer.
