About iExec
iExec is a decentralized cloud computing platform that combines blockchain with confidential computing. Its core service allows users to rent computing power or run applications in Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), such as Intel SGX or TDX, ensuring data and code remain encrypted and verifiable during execution.
Main pain points addressed: traditional cloud is centralized and opaque, while public blockchains expose all transaction data. For AI, DeFi, and tokenized real-world assets (RWA), sensitive logic (e.g., trading strategies, pricing models, compliance checks) cannot be publicly visible. iExec solves this by providing a confidential execution layer where data is encrypted, access is controlled, and computation is cryptographically attested. The RLC token is used to pay for executions, access protected data, and stake during tasks.
Recent development (Feb–Aug 2026): In March, iExec launched the Nox mainnet, enabling confidential DeFi vaults on Arbitrum and Ethereum testnet. In April, it announced a partnership with Real Finance to bring confidential RWA pricing. In May, version 9.3.0 added TDX task support, and version 9.2.0 introduced preflight checks for app enclave configuration. The team also published a roadmap for confidential AI, focusing on model and data protection. However, adoption remains limited compared to mainstream cloud providers, and the platform still depends on Intel hardware availability.
