About DigiByte
Since its mainnet launch on January 10, 2014, DigiByte has upheld decentralization with no ICO, no premine, and no central entity. In 2015-2016, the network introduced MultiShield real-time difficulty adjustment and five mining algorithms (SHA-256, Scrypt, Skein, Qubit, Odocrypt), effectively resisting hash attacks. In 2017-2018, it achieved 15-second block times and ~1160 transactions per second, laying a scalable foundation. In 2019-2020, Digi-ID decentralized authentication was launched, expanding on-chain utility.
In April 2025, Taproot activated, enhancing privacy and efficiency. On July 17, 2026, DigiDollar activated via BIP9 soft fork at block 23,869,440, becoming the first decentralized stablecoin on a UTXO chain, marking a new era.

On July 17, 2026, DigiDollar activated on DigiByte mainnet (block 23,869,440), becoming the first native stablecoin on a UTXO chain; DGB can be time-locked as collateral to mint DD, reducing circulating supply, and DGB surged over 23% after activation.
v9.26.5 was released, fixing the ~15-minute startup hang caused by the oracle scan in v9.26.4; startup now takes about 3 seconds.
