About Audius
Audius is a decentralized music streaming protocol built on Solana and Ethereum, designed to directly connect artists with fans. Its core business includes free music streaming, artist-issued tokens (Artist Coins), and reward mechanisms based on play counts. Artists can upload music, create custom tokens, and earn AUDIO rewards when tracks hit milestones like 10,000 or 100,000 plays. Fans can stake AUDIO to access exclusive content and participate in governance.
The platform's key differentiator is its open audio protocol, which supports unlimited media storage and streaming through a network of staked validators. This eliminates traditional intermediaries, giving artists full control over distribution and revenue. Unlike centralized services like Spotify, Audius uses a decentralized content node network, making censorship resistant and allowing artists to retain a larger share of earnings. The Artist Coins feature further enables creators to build fan clubs with exclusive perks, addressing the pain point of unfair revenue distribution and lack of direct fan monetization.
