About Lagrange
Lagrange is a zero-knowledge coprocessor protocol that enables smart contracts to query and verify off-chain data through cryptographic proofs. Its core products include a ZK coprocessor for SQL-based queries and DeepProve for verifiable AI inference, both built on a modular network of specialized provers.
The main pain points it addresses are: smart contracts cannot directly access large off-chain datasets; optimistic rollups have withdrawal delays of up to 7-14 days; and AI outputs lack cryptographic verifiability. Lagrange solves these by generating succinct proofs for complex computations, allowing on-chain verification without revealing underlying data.
Its competitive edge lies in the DARA (Double Auction Resource Allocation) mechanism for efficient proof market matching, support for multiple proof systems (Plonky2/3, Boojum), and a modular "network of networks" architecture that parallelizes proof generation. The State Committees product, built on EigenLayer restaking, provides fast finality for optimistic rollups.
In the past six months (Feb-Aug 2026), Lagrange partnered with Polyhedra to enable zkBridge with immediate finality for optimistic rollups, launched DeepProve for verifiable AI, and expanded its network to over 12 million proofs generated with 140,000+ unique users. The protocol also introduced DARA to improve resource allocation efficiency.
A notable negative development: some community members questioned the sustainability of the token buyback mechanism, arguing that if real demand for proof generation slows, the "non-LA payment → buyback LA" model may fail to support token value.
Hanwha STEP partnership (2026-08-27): Joined Hanwha Vision's partner program to make AI surveillance records cryptographically provable, a first real integration.
2026-09-02: Volume surged 312% to $85.67M, price broke resistance, showing market interest.
Unlocks & inflation: ~29M LA unlocked on 2026-07-04 (~15% market cap); 43.9% insider cliff expired on 2026-06-04 entering linear vesting; 4% perpetual inflation, 80.7% supply still locked, creating persistent sell pressure.
Revenue & rights: Zero observable real paid revenue; buyback is paper since dependent on revenue; passive holding accrues no fees or emissions.
