About Flamingo DAO

Flamingo DAO is an NFT collective incubated by The LAO community, founded in 2020, with the mission to support creators and artists. Flamingo DAO was founded in October 2020, incubated by The LAO as an early NFT-focused collector DAO. Members contributed ETH in exchange for voting rights and profit shares, with goals including acquiring and fractionalizing NFTs, commissioning artists, and supporting digital artists and metaverse assets. In 2021, Flamingo launched Flamingo Flutter in collaboration with Art Blocks, creating a public minting platform for generative artists; the first drop, Kenny Vaden's "Worlds" series, was priced at 0.35 ETH, marking a shift from collecting to enabling artistic creation and releases. Subsequently, Flamingo continued investing in the NFT ecosystem, including participating in PROOF's $50M Series A in 2022, and built a collection valued well above nine figures, becoming one of the most influential collector DAOs in NFTs. These milestones trace its evolution from investing and collecting to infrastructure support and advancing generative art.
