About Coincheck

Coincheck, one of Japan's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has achieved several milestones with long-term significance. In March 2022, it announced plans to go public on Nasdaq via a SPAC merger with Thunder Bridge Capital Partners IV, and successfully listed on Nasdaq in December 2024 with a valuation of approximately $1.6 billion, marking its entry into international capital markets. In January 2025, Coincheck received a $65 million strategic investment from Japanese telecom giant KDDI, which will help expand its user base and strengthen its position in the digital asset market. In March 2025, Coincheck announced the acquisition of approximately 97% of 3iQ, a leading global digital asset manager, valuing the company at over $111 million, marking a significant step in its global expansion. Additionally, Coincheck completed registration for electronic payment transaction business in Japan, officially entering the stablecoin and on-chain finance sectors, laying the foundation for future business diversification. These milestones reflect Coincheck's transition from a Japanese exchange to a global digital asset platform.
