The cryptocurrency tax framework passed by the Greek Parliament establishes a 12-month historical cryptocurrency income declaration window for investors. Eligible individuals can avoid penalties and interest for late declarations, and taxes must be paid within 60 days after declaration.
Investors with annual cryptocurrency losses exceeding 500 euros can carry forward the losses for 5 years to offset future cryptocurrency gains. The framework imposes a 10% tax on individual cryptocurrency capital gains, while staking, cryptocurrency lending, and DeFi liquidity earnings are taxed at 15% as interest income.
