GitBook: Attacked by AI entities, users are advised to rotate API keys

Nov 4, 2026 01:26:02

According to an official announcement from GitBook, the documentation platform commonly used by crypto projects, attackers launched a highly targeted attack using AI agents, obtaining some of its infrastructure credentials at 2 AM Beijing time on November 3. Integrated tokens, Git Sync keys, API tokens, and questions posed by website visitors to GitBook Assistant may have been leaked.

GitBook stated that no customer content has been found to be tampered with, all personal API tokens have been revoked, and all credentials have been replaced. Related services were restored at 11:21 PM Beijing time on November 3. GitBook recommends that users rotate their GitBook and third-party API tokens and keys, and re-authenticate the GitBook MCP server. Previously, PancakeSwap temporarily took down its documentation hosted on GitBook due to this incident.
