Samsung Electronics will build a second wafer fabrication plant in Taylor, Texas, to produce high bandwidth memory chips for AMD and NVIDIA. The plant is expected to break ground this month, utilizing 2-nanometer process technology, covering approximately 2.7 million square feet, and being 1.5 times the size of the first plant.
Equipment installation is expected in February 2029, with mass production starting in 2030.
