ChainCatcher news, Federal Reserve Chairman Powell stated at a press conference that the rate cuts in September and today were risk management-style cuts, but the situation will not be the same in the future. He mentioned the most important statement in his opening remarks: "There are very different views within the committee on how to act in December. A further reduction in the policy rate at the December meeting is not a foregone conclusion." Subsequently, the market quickly reduced the pricing probability of a Fed rate cut in December from 92% to 70%, with risk assets declining across the board, while U.S. Treasury yields and the DXY dollar index rose.
