The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency takes action to eliminate the phenomenon of "de-banking."

ChainCatcher News, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) announced on Monday that it will take measures to eliminate the so-called "de-banking" phenomenon, in response to calls from industry groups and Republicans to end this practice seen as unfair.

OCC head Jonathan Gould stated, "The OCC is taking steps to terminate the weaponization of the financial system," and added that the agency will be committed to eradicating activities where banks illegally discriminate against customers based on political or religious beliefs.
