FIFA will build a dedicated blockchain based on Avalanche

ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced that it will build its exclusive Layer 1 blockchain using Avalanche network technology. This is a further expansion of FIFA in the Web3 space following the launch of an NFT series on the Algorand blockchain during the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

It is reported that this blockchain will operate as a customizable L1 chain of the Avalanche network, utilizing the upgraded technical architecture of Avalanche 9000. FIFA stated that it will continue to promote Web3 initiatives such as digital collectibles, but did not disclose specific application plans for the new blockchain. Ava Labs stated that this collaboration demonstrates the capability of Avalanche technology to support globally scaled applications.
