About Aster
Aster launched the AOS-2 standard, transitioning perpetual markets to a public staking voting mechanism that enables decentralized governance.
Aster supports bStock as collateral for perpetual contracts on BNB Chain, initially covering assets including TSLAB and expanding real-world asset integration.
Leonard is the anonymous co-founder and CEO of Aster. Before crypto, he spent 5-6 years in traditional finance, starting at an investment bank in Hong Kong working on HFT infrastructure, then pivoting to software development for equity trading risk engines. His early startups included a P2P lending platform, a lending platform on IBM Hyperledger, and a gaming/NFT platform. In 2019, he joined Binance as a project manager, working closely with then-CEO CZ, who later became his mentor. After leaving Binance, inspired by Uniswap, dYdX, and Hyperliquid, he founded Aster (formed from the merger of Apollox and Astherus), which received seed funding from YZi Labs. He advocates a product-first philosophy, aiming to replicate CEX user experience with self-custody security. Aster has evolved from a DEX to developing a privacy-focused Layer 1 chain. He has spoken at Binance Blockchain Week.
