About Union
Union is a zero-knowledge interoperability protocol that lets heterogeneous chains verify each other's consensus states without third-party trust assumptions, enabling cross-chain asset and message transfer. It addresses the pain point that mainstream bridges rely on multisig or centralized validators with single-point custody risk. Its mechanism verifies the target chain's consensus via ZK proofs in a light client and passes the proven state through a cross-chain messaging layer, with restaking providing economic security for validators.
In the interoperability infrastructure space, Union positions itself as a trust-minimized cross-chain layer integrated with ecosystems like Cosmos and Evmos. In September 2026 the one-year cliff on its core contributors' 2 billion tokens expired and converted to 24-month linear vesting, while validator reward inflation dropped from 6% to 5.4%. Cross-chain confirmation latency depends on target-chain block time and proof-generation overhead, and long-distance heterogeneous verification still lags native bridges.
Unlocks: On September 4 the one-year cliff on 2 billion U (20% of supply) held by core contributors expired, switching to 24-month linear vesting; the 21.4% strategic investor block also left lockup that day. Staking rewards entered year two as annual inflation stepped down from 6% to 5.4%.
Supply structure: Genesis supply is 10 billion U with 1.919 billion circulating at TGE. Validator emissions fall 10% a year until they hit a 2% floor.
