About Symbiosis Finance
Symbiosis Finance is a cross-chain liquidity protocol that aggregates decentralized exchange (DEX) liquidity across multiple blockchains, enabling users to swap tokens between different networks in a single transaction. Its core product is an automated market maker (AMM) powered by 'Octopools'—unified liquidity pools hosted on the Symbiosis Host Chain—which allow assets from various chains to be pooled together, reducing fragmentation and improving capital efficiency.
The protocol's key differentiator is its support for both EVM and non-EVM networks (e.g., Bitcoin, Solana, TON), achieved through a cross-chain messaging mechanism that coordinates transactions between source and destination chains. This addresses the market pain point of fragmented liquidity and complex multi-step bridging processes, offering a simpler, more efficient alternative to traditional bridges.
In the past six months (2026-02-28 to 2026-08-29), Symbiosis has focused on expanding network coverage and enhancing the user experience. Notable developments include the full integration of TON and Bitcoin networks, enabling native BTC swaps without wrapped tokens, and the introduction of cross-chain zaps, which allow users to provide liquidity or enter yield farming positions from any supported chain in one click. The protocol also upgraded its routing algorithm to reduce slippage and transaction costs, and improved its SDK and API documentation for developers.
No significant negative events were reported during this period, though the team acknowledged ongoing challenges related to bridge security and the need for continuous audits. Overall, Symbiosis continues to position itself as a user-friendly, multi-chain liquidity layer, with a growing ecosystem of integrated wallets and DeFi applications.
Founded in 2021 as a cross-chain AMM DEX aggregating liquidity across 45+ EVM and non-EVM networks.
In 2025, launched the SIS Chain, a custom L2 built on Arbitrum Nitro via Caldera, making $SIS the native gas token for all protocol operations and settling directly to Ethereum.
In July 2025, transitioned to its own Proof-of-Stake and Delegated Proof-of-Stake framework, ending reliance on a permissioned Proof-of-Authority relayer set and enabling any SIS holder to stake or delegate, marking its evolution into a sovereign L1-style network.
