About LEGION
Legion is a merit-based crypto fundraising platform that runs compliant token sales for early-stage Web3 projects. Its core business is helping projects raise capital through public sales while giving retail investors fairer access to allocations.
The platform's key differentiator is its reputation system. Instead of first-come-first-served or bot-driven races, Legion scores users based on their on-chain activity, social presence, and contribution history. Projects can filter applicants using these scores to build a community of genuine supporters rather than short-term flippers. This addresses the market pain point where token sales are often dominated by mercenaries who dump tokens immediately, harming long-term project health. Legion also handles compliance infrastructure like KYC and proof of address, reducing regulatory burden for projects.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), Legion has shipped several notable updates. In March, it overhauled its Sybil detection system with a graduated penalty mechanism to distinguish bots from real users. In April, it introduced Ethos Score, which displays the reputation of projects and founders on every sale page. In May, it integrated Nansen reputation data, allowing users to link permissionless wallets so their on-chain track record feeds into project evaluations. In June, it launched the Squid ($QUID) public sale in partnership with Kraken, running from June 30 to July 3. The sale demonstrated the platform's merit-based allocation model in practice, with applications reviewed by the project team rather than decided by speed.
Legion completed a $2 million seed round led by Cyber Fund, laying the foundation for its on-chain fundraising platform.
It subsequently raised $5 million led by VanEck and others.
Kraken partnered with Legion to launch a compliant token sale platform.
