About COTI

COTI is a DAG-based L1 where transactions confirm in parallel across a directed acyclic graph, with proof-of-stake validators ordering conflicts and producing blocks, tuned for payments and stablecoins on throughput and fees. Its privacy layer splits computation across nodes with garbled circuits, hiding amounts and balances from validators while keeping selective disclosure for audits; the network also carries merchant payment gateways and stablecoin issuance tools that place clearing and compliance checks at the protocol level.

Transactions confirm first with neighbouring nodes in the DAG, conflicts are ordered by validators by weight and packaged into blocks, so confirmation time varies with network load. Private transfers split amounts and balances into garbled circuits computed across several nodes, and auditors read named fields through selectively disclosed keys. The merchant gateway puts collection, reconciliation and stablecoin issuance behind one interface, settling per payment request.

COTI's journey began with a focus on enterprise-grade payment solutions, evolving into a privacy-centric Layer 2 blockchain. Key milestones include the launch of the V2 mainnet on March 26, 2025, introducing the gcEVM—the first production-ready Garbled Circuits implementation for on-chain confidentiality, developed with Soda Labs. This breakthrough enabled Privacy-on-Demand for dApps and institutional users, processing over 125 million transactions within months. Strategic partnerships with the Bank of Israel for the Digital Shekel pilot and the European Central Bank's Digital Euro initiative positioned COTI in national CBDC projects. Its role as a founding member of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance and the Tokenized Asset Coalition, alongside a $500,000 grant program with Gitcoin for privacy projects, solidified its ecosystem standing. The network's adoption by platforms like Bancor's Arb Fast Lane and integrations with MyEtherWallet highlighted practical use cases. By 2026, COTI's infrastructure supported 80+ ecosystem partners, marking its transition from a payments-focused platform to a foundational privacy layer for Web3, with a clear trajectory toward mainstream privacy adoption.

Buyback and burn: Fees from the network, the Privacy Portal and dApps fund COTI buybacks and burns, targeting 100 million tokens removed; circulating supply equals total supply at 2.96 billion.

Upgrades: The mandatory V1 to V2 migration closed on September 30, and the Garbled Circuits privacy network is generally available with over 125 million transactions processed. COTI partnered with the Midnight Foundation on privacy infrastructure in June and set up a node-operator-run community treasury earlier in the year.

On January 11, 2026, COTI activated the Helium hard fork at block height 5,098,638; the upgrade was confirmed complete the next day and the network returned to full functionality. v1.2.0 adds native 128-bit and 256-bit arithmetic support, rewrites the multiplication and division circuits, adjusts MPC computation pricing, and adds tracing and debugging tools that are off by default, while fixing ciphertext verification compatibility for proxy contracts; no user action is required. The 2026 roadmap also covers Node V2 and the handover of treasury governance to the community.

Future strategy and roadmap: After activating the Helium hard fork (v1.2.0) with native big-number arithmetic in January 2026, COTI's roadmap also includes Node V2 and transferring treasury governance to the community. The next step is deploying private computation into DeFi, RWA and enterprise scenarios, where its PriveX already reaches about 400 million dollars in daily volume. The team plans to decentralize treasury governance via gCOTI voting and node operations and attract market-making and AI-agent flows into private DeFi. It will then expand privacy-preserving on-chain trading and settlement around node staking and vault governance, building encryption compute as infrastructure for mainstream finance.
