About Aria
Aria Protocol tokenises royalty rights in music and runs on Story, a chain designed for intellectual property; it is not the AI games platform AriaAI on BNB Chain. Aria Management Company acquires partial master and publishing rights, holds them in a legal entity and issues ERC-20 IP RWA tokens against them. The first asset, APL, represents royalty shares in tracks performed by artists including Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and BLACKPINK; holders receive streaming and licensing income pro rata and may stake or transfer the token, while ARIAIP carries governance and liquidity.
The process runs in three steps: raising capital to buy rights, distributing net royalties to holders through contracts, and using programmable licences to split revenue from derivative works. On 27 February 2026 Aria released the single Busy Boy with K-pop group RESCENE and THE MUZE, the first time it held master rights from the release stage and routed all master royalties to APL, followed by a Galantis remix on 12 March 2026. Public figures show partial rights to 48 songs, about 4,300 holders and roughly 323,000 dollars in royalties distributed.
Unlock: ARIAIP unlocked about 7.82 million tokens (0.8% of total supply) as scheduled on October 7; an even larger unlock is planned for November.
Setback: From August 10 Bithumb suspended ARIAIP deposits and withdrawals due to Data Network wallet maintenance, with ARIAIP withdrawal-only and no restoration date announced.
On February 27, 2026, Aria brought the master rights to K-pop group RESCENE's new single "Busy Boy" into its $APL portfolio at release, with master royalties flowing directly to $APL holders; a Galantis remix followed on March 12, marking the first time Aria acquired master rights at the release stage rather than from an established catalogue. In September 2026 it closed a $15 million strategic and seed round backed by Polychain Capital, Neoclassic and the Story Foundation. On October 9 it announced the Aria Foundation and a native token, ARIAIP, with 5% of supply in a first-season airdrop and another 5% reserved for later seasons.
Future strategy and roadmap: The roadmap replicates the frontline-IP model on more new releases, extends artist partnerships beyond Korea, and uses ARIAIP for protocol governance, IP issuance and ecosystem incentives; the foundation handles ecosystem resources and new IP onboarding while Aria Protocol Labs keeps providing technical and ecosystem support.
