About Alchemix
Alchemix is a DeFi lending platform where users deposit collateral to borrow synthetic assets (alUSD/alETH) that repay themselves via future yield generated from the collateral. Its core innovation is the self-repaying loan: instead of manually repaying, the yield from the underlying collateral automatically services the debt over time.
In the past six months (2026-03-01 to 2026-09-01), Alchemix completed its v3 migration in April 2026. The upgrade introduced a Transmuter mechanism that allows alAsset holders to lock tokens for a fixed term and redeem them 1:1 for underlying collateral at maturity, creating a predictable arbitrage cycle that stabilizes the peg. The platform also launched Mix-Yield Tokens (MYT), which diversify yield sources across multiple strategies to reduce risk. Cross-chain functionality was rebuilt using LayerZero's OFT standard with a 2-of-3 Decentralized Verifier Network to enhance bridge security. The migration involved roughly 20,000 transactions, moving 6,413 positions and 12,107 ETH across 3 chains, with no user action required. The protocol underwent audits from Spearbit, Cantina, Nethermind, and yAudit, and maintains an active bug bounty of up to $150,000.
Alchemix addresses the market pain point of inefficient debt management—traditional loans require active repayment, while Alchemix automates this through yield. It also solves the stablecoin peg stability issue by aligning market incentives through the Transmuter's fixed-yield arbitrage opportunity. The v3 design reduces reliance on any single yield source, improving resilience against strategy failures.
Alchemix introduced the v3 architecture, replacing the old cross-chain bridge for Optimism and Arbitrum, marking a major upgrade to its core infrastructure. The protocol restarted its bug bounty program on Immunefi with a maximum reward of $300,000, reinforcing long-term security assurance. Additionally, the Alchemix DAO donated 15 ETH to the Alexey & Roman Legal Defense Fund, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the broader crypto community. These milestones reflect Alchemix's continuous evolution in platform architecture, security maintenance, and ecosystem responsibility.
Alchemix v3 launched April 18, 2026, auto-migrating 6,413 positions across 3 chains, raising LTV to 90%, introducing Mix-Yield Token and Fixed-Duration Transmuter. Phase Two extended Transmuter terms to ~9 months and raised early-exit fee to 3%. New integrations include Euler 4-way market, Pendle, sfrxETH, weETH, iUSD. Binance announced ALCX spot delisting on June 26, 2026. TVL ~$30.4M, revenue target $800K/year at $100M TVL.
Scoopy Trooples (Co-Founder)
Scoopy Trooples is the co-founder of Alchemix. He has an educational background and entered crypto in 2016, starting with Bitcoin and then Ethereum. He participated in ICOs and experimented with dApps like CryptoKitties. After leaving education, he learned to code and became an Ethereum ecosystem contributor. He adopted the name "Scoopy Trooples" from Dungeons & Dragons. Alchemix was originally named CheeseFi, and the concept evolved from a yield derivative into the current future-yield-backed synthetic asset platform.
