The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently updated the relevant content regarding token buybacks in the frequently asked questions (FAQ) section related to cryptocurrencies. The new regulations clearly state that if there is no centralized entity behind the token buyback, then the buyback arrangement typically does not constitute an Investment Contract.
