Xi Jinping's visit to the United States this week may not include a delegation of corporate executives

According to The Wall Street Journal, Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Washington this week to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. Sources say that Xi is unlikely to bring a delegation of corporate executives, which lowers expectations for significant business agreements at the summit.

Both sides are expected to focus on maintaining the current trade situation, possibly extending the tariff truce, reducing tariffs on some non-sensitive goods, and making gradual progress on trade committees and tariff reductions. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer stated that both sides are selecting a small number of goods for which a trade agreement can be reached.

Trump will personally welcome Xi at Andrews Joint Base and hold a state welcome ceremony on Thursday, which will include 479 military personnel. The two sides will then hold a summit and state banquet, expected to discuss AI and rare earth issues. This is Xi's first visit to Washington in 11 years.
