About functionSPACE
functionSPACE makes a numerical outcome tradeable as a payoff curve rather than only a yes-or-no question. A user defines a continuous range, posts the capital that opens the market, and chooses a payoff shape: binary, range, linear, or a function they draw themselves. One market prices every shape, and settlement pays on the measured number. Pricing, solvency and settlement sit in the mechanism, so a market opens without a market maker quoting it, and every front end draws on the same book instead of bootstrapping liquidity separately.
It acts as a pricing layer: propSPACE runs World Cup fantasy points, indexSPACE packages several markets into vaults, and third-party apps connect through SDKs and components. Compared with prediction markets built on binary contracts, it makes precision the priced object, and settlement runs through participant bonding rather than an external oracle. Public markets currently run on simulated money and the on-chain contracts remain a proof of concept, so tradable depth and real capital are still limited.
In 2026 functionSPACE ran its first public stress test around the World Cup: one payoff-market layer powered propSPACE plus three partner apps, Polysights, Trepa and Kelvon, settling 129 markets from the round of 32 to the final, denominated in fantasy points rather than binary outcomes.
functionSPACE's mechanism maps any numerical outcome onto a tradeable payoff curve. Binary bets, ranges, linear positions and custom shapes share a single liquidity pool, and developers can embed a market inside a wallet, exchange or game so users need no separate account. The protocol launched on Arbitrum in October with trading not yet open and a waitlist in place. Arbitrum processed 478 million transactions in the first half and averaged over $70 billion a month in stablecoin transfers, which is why the team chose it for settlement. The waitlist suggests the protocol is still preparing liquidity and compliance, and takes no real money before opening.
functionSPACE will prove out sports and crypto price markets first, extend to continuous metrics such as weather and elections, and focus the next phase on developer onboarding and market-making incentives. Settling in fantasy points rather than binary outcomes sidesteps betting restrictions in some jurisdictions while keeping a tradeable payoff structure.
