According to the Times of Israel, a court in Tel Aviv revealed on Thursday that an Israeli Air Force reservist is suspected of using confidential information to profit from trading on Polymarket regarding last year's war between Israel and Iran.

The defendant, a former Air Force major, was charged last month along with his accomplice with serious security offenses, as well as bribery and obstruction of justice. They are suspected of trading on the timing of the first airstrike in the 12-day war initiated by Israel in June 2025. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the suspects or the specific details of the trades. The case was initially protected by a court order, but on Thursday evening, after applications from several Hebrew media outlets, part of the order was lifted, allowing details of the case to be made public, although the names of the defendants remain undisclosed.

The two earned a total of $162,663 after successfully predicting events last June, and they agreed to split the money. Last month, prosecutors filed charges against the two in the Tel Aviv District Court and sought to detain them until the legal proceedings are concluded.
