COSCO Shipping resumes bookings for Gulf countries, but vessels will not pass through the Strait of Hormuz for now

According to a report by Caixin cited by Jinshi, COSCO Shipping has previously issued a service notice: starting today, it will resume new booking services for the Far East to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq, which are Gulf countries in the Middle East (standard containers).

The resumption of shipments does not mean that COSCO Shipping's container ships can pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Several COSCO Shipping personnel have stated that vessels will temporarily not pass through the strait, but will instead follow a plan similar to that of CMA CGM, first shipping containers to Sohar Port in Oman on the eastern side of the strait; then to Port Khalifa in the UAE, Fujairah Port, and Jeddah Port in Saudi Arabia, and finally transferring the containers to these countries via land transport.
