ChainCatcher 消息，据 Business Insider 报道，80 岁纽约投资者 George Chryssanthou 遭遇电信诈骗，损失约 28.5 万美元。诈骗者通过冒充微软技术支持人员获取了其电脑的远程控制权，并诱导其在 2025 年 1 月期间分多次向名为 Coinbase Inc 的账户进行电汇转账，相关资金随后被转换为比特币转移。
受害者已向美国金融业监管局（FINRA）对嘉信理财（Charles Schwab）提起疏忽指控，称该经纪公司未能识别并阻止这些异常的高频大额转账。此次诈骗涉及总金额为 284,650 美元，单笔转账金额在 1.8 万美元至 9 万美元不等。
