The Kenyan Ministry of Finance is seeking public comments on the draft regulations for virtual asset service providers

The National Treasury of Kenya released the draft of the "2026 Virtual Asset Service Provider Regulations" this Wednesday and opened it for public comment, with a deadline of April 10. The draft is based on the "Virtual Asset Service Provider Act" that came into effect on November 4, 2025, and was drafted by a multi-agency working group involving the Central Bank of Kenya and the Capital Markets Authority.
