According to CoinDesk, billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller stated that he "assumes the entire payment system will adopt stablecoins within the next 10 to 15 years," claiming that fiat-backed stablecoins like USDT and USDC are more efficient, faster, and cheaper for payments, making them "extremely useful" productive applications of blockchain.

He reiterated his skepticism towards most crypto assets, believing they are still "solutions created to solve non-existent problems." At the same time, he believes Bitcoin has essentially established itself as a store of value and questioned whether the dollar can continue to serve as the global reserve currency for the next 50 years, stating that its position may ultimately be replaced by some form of crypto asset.
