According to Reuters, the U.S. Department of Defense has announced the appointment of computer scientist Gavin Kliger as Chief Data Officer, who assisted billionaire Musk in pushing for reforms in the U.S. government last year.
Gavin Kliger's new role "places him at the heart of the department's most ambitious artificial intelligence efforts," primarily responsible for "the daily coordination and execution of the department's AI projects, and working directly with the U.S. leading AI laboratories to support operational personnel."
