According to Politico, citing two informed sources, U.S. President Trump had a private meeting with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong.

As the discussions were behind closed doors, the sources requested anonymity. It is unclear what exactly was discussed during the meeting, but shortly after, Trump posted on social media that banks "need to reach a good deal with the crypto industry" to advance the digital asset legislation currently stalled on Capitol Hill. He also stated that a recently passed crypto law "is being threatened and undermined by banks, which is unacceptable"—a statement that echoes Coinbase's position.
