According to official news from IoTeX, the IoTeX mainnet has fully resumed operation on February 24 at 06:06 (UTC). Previously, the IoTeX team, along with node representatives, deployed the Mainnet v2.3.4 security upgrade, permanently freezing approximately 45 million IOTX in 29 attacker wallets.
According to on-chain forensic analysis, although the attackers minted 410 million CIOTX, 99.5% of the assets have been frozen or locked. The actual economic loss is approximately 4.4 million USD, and the attackers have converted these assets into 66.78 BTC, currently stored in four Bitcoin addresses.
The IoTeX Foundation has committed to providing 100% compensation to all affected users from the foundation's treasury and has submitted a formal report to U.S. law enforcement agencies. To prevent similar incidents from occurring again, IoTeX is implementing multiple security upgrades, including transitioning to decentralized bridge governance, multi-signature control, and on-chain circuit breaker measures.
