According to CBC News, 21-year-old Canadian fugitive Andean Medjedovic is suspected of stealing a total of $65 million in assets from the platforms Indexed Finance and KyberSwap through hacking.
Medjedovic was arrested in Belgrade, Serbia, in August 2024, but was released after a Serbian court rejected the Netherlands' extradition request. Documents from the U.S. Department of Justice indicate that he may have fled to Bosnia and is currently missing.
Medjedovic previously exploited his mathematical and programming talents to attack Indexed Finance at the age of 18, profiting $16.5 million, and later attacked KyberSwap in 2023, earning $48 million. Medjedovic used a fake Slovak passport and has traveled through multiple countries including Brazil, Dubai, and Spain. The U.S. Department of Justice has accused him of using mixers like Tornado Cash for money laundering.
