The central bank issued a notice regarding the implementation of arrangements for a one-time credit repair policy

The People's Bank of China issued a notice to support individuals with damaged credit in rebuilding their credit, deciding to implement a one-time credit repair policy. For personal overdue information with a single amount not exceeding 10,000 RMB during the period from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2025, if the individual fully repays the overdue debt before March 31, 2026, the financial credit information basic database will not display it.

Among them, those repaid before November 30, 2025, will not be displayed from January 1, 2026; those repaid between December 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, will not be displayed before the end of the following month. This work will be uniformly processed by the Credit Reference Center of the People's Bank of China, and no individual application is required. In addition, individuals can receive two additional free credit inquiry opportunities in the first half of 2026.
