The asset tokenization company Securitize announced the hiring of former PayPal digital asset legal head Jerome Roche as General Counsel to prepare the company for its listing on Nasdaq through a SPAC under Cantor Fitzgerald.

The merger is expected to give Securitize a valuation of $1.25 billion and trade under the code SECZ. Securitize plans to tokenize its own equity and is the issuer of BlackRock's on-chain treasury fund BUIDL. Roche stated that his professional focus is at the "intersection of compliance regulation and technological innovation."
