Tether announced that the liquidation of the euro stablecoin EUR₮ has entered its final stage, and redemptions will cease starting November 27

Stablecoin issuer Tether announced on November 26 that it will cease the liquidation process of the euro stablecoin EUR₮. As the final step in this process, Tether will stop the redemption service for EUR₮ on all supported blockchains starting from November 27, 2025. Previously, Tether had halted the minting of EUR₮ and will no longer accept new issuance requests.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino explained that the liquidation of EUR₮ is aimed at optimizing operations and technical infrastructure, allowing more focus on high-utility networks and forward-looking initiatives. Its focus in Europe will be the Hadron by Tether platform, which aims to make asset tokenization easier and provide issuance, investment, and core capital market technologies for institutions, fund managers, and governments.
