Hassett: If I take charge of the Federal Reserve, I will definitely initiate larger rate cuts

The Director of the National Economic Council, Kevin Hassett, stated that he has informed President Trump that he would be willing to accept the position of Federal Reserve Chairman if nominated to replace Powell. He also emphasized that he prefers to implement larger rate cuts when monetary policymakers meet in December.

Hassett made it clear that if appointed as Chairman, he would push for a comprehensive reform of the Federal Reserve's research system.
