As Eastern Standard Time officially enters November 6, the U.S. federal government "shutdown" has reached its 37th day, setting a record for the longest "shutdown" in history. The U.S. government previously experienced a "shutdown" for 35 days from late 2018 to early 2019.
Earlier today, reports indicated that according to Polymarket data, the probability of the "U.S. government shutdown ending after November 16" has significantly increased to 44%, which suggests that the U.S. government is unlikely to "open" in the short term. Additionally, the probability of the shutdown ending between November 4 and 7 is currently reported at 3%, while the probability for it ending between November 8 and 11 is 22%; the probability for it ending between November 12 and 15 is 30%.
