According to The Block, Franklin Templeton has launched Hong Kong's first tokenized money market fund, which is registered in Luxembourg and backed by short-term U.S. Treasury securities, issuing digital tokens representing investor shares through blockchain technology.
This move aligns with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA)'s newly announced "Fintech 2030 Strategy," which was introduced by Chief Executive Eddie Yue this week and includes over 40 measures aimed at integrating artificial intelligence tools, developing a tokenized ecosystem, and enhancing the resilience of the financial sector.
