The Central Bank of Brazil will discuss the issue of Bitcoin reserves in Rio de Janeiro

ChainCatcher news, the Central Bank of Brazil will send six representatives to the "Central Bank Autumn Meeting" scheduled to be held in Rio de Janeiro from November 19 to 21, 2025. The agenda includes the growing trend of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin reserves among central banks.
Ricardo Martinelli, a representative from the International Reserves Department of the Central Bank of Brazil, will discuss "Investment Perspectives: How Reserve Managers Respond to Geoeconomic and Portfolio Strategies" with peers from countries such as Colombia, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Guatemala. Additionally, the development of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) will be discussed, with Brazil's ongoing Drex digital currency project being a focal point.
Rogério Lucca, Executive Secretary of the Central Bank of Brazil, will share insights during the panel discussion "The Future of Money: Innovation, Interoperability, and Partnerships," exploring the possibility of coexistence between CBDCs and stablecoins.
